Blair Castle

I'm finally getting around to going through our pictures from Scotland -- I've been procrastinating, I think, because there are just so darn many of them. A good problem to have. :)

During our visit, we took an overnight trip up to the Highlands, which were beautiful. And had no shortage of castles. On the way up, we stopped at Blair Castle and had a look around:

Sleeeeeeeeppppy

Stephanie took this video of Maggie at lunch on our first day here. It's kind of bouncy because Stephanie was laughing so hard. Maggie had gotten maybe 4 hours of sleep the night before (on the plane) and we were trying to keep her awake until after lunch. She kept nodding off....but was still determined to finish her cheese. :)

Scotland, part 1

A quick update from Scotland -- we're having a great time! Maggie did so well on the long trip here -- much, much better than we had expected her to -- and adjusted to the time change pretty quickly. We're having such a nice time with our friends, Jeff and Stephanie. We've visited castles and gardens and various bodies of water, and many Scottish playgrounds. :) I'm already feeling overwhelmed about getting pictures posted -- we've taken over 400 so far! Here are a few favorites so far. I'll post more extensively after we get home and have time to go through them all.

Catching up, part 2

We had a really nice visit with Patrick's dad and with Patty and Tom. Maggie had lots of fun -- some highlights pictured below included: decorating a flower pot with Aunt Patty (and also decorating everyone's faces with the stickers!), planting some chives in the flower pot with Uncle Tom, reading stories with Grandpa Bob, sweeping Miss Shirley's deck, and playing golf. Other highlights -- a great trip to the beach, and the Sun City Memorial Day golf cart parade. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of those, but trust me, they were lots of fun!









A future golfer, perhaps? :)

Catching up

We were out of town all last week, with a trip down to south Florida for my Grandma B's funeral and then a few days spent at Patrick's Dad's house on our way back. Maggie did great, even on the 8 and 9-hour-in-the-car days and even though we sometimes made her sleep in a closet. I'm finally going through the pictures from our trip, so expect a few updates over the next few days.

First installment: Florida. My Grandma B passed away peacefully at 91, after a long, slow decline. It was nice to have the family all together, though of course it was a really sad occasion. A few pictures from random moments during our time there:














I'm so glad Grandma stayed with us long enough to meet Maggie. Grandma B, you are loved and you will be sorely missed.
