Garba!

Maggie and I went down to Columbia yesterday to visit the Shahs, and Maggie got to go to her first garba! (For those who aren't familiar with it, garba is a traditional Indian religious festival with lots of dancing -- it's so much fun!) We kept her up much later than she's used to, but she did great -- I was so proud of her. She stayed happy and cheerful pretty much all evening, and even contentedly sat on strange laps to watch the dancing and clapped and swayed along to the music! What a trooper. :)

Sona gave Maggie her very own Indian outfit -- she looked so cute!

All dressed up and ready to dance!

Snuggling with Sona's mom at the garba

Sona took Maggie out for a few rounds of dancing

Taking it all in....

Maggie also got to try pau bhaji for the first time this weekend. It's one of Sona's mom's specialties, and one of our favorites.

Maggie loved it, too!

Maggie's favorite spot at the Shahs' was this crate (which usually holds onions and this weekend held a lot of Maggie!)

We had a great time and are already looking forward to next year!
